The oldest operating cinema in Brighton is screening a ‘dogumentary’ for dogs.

Pick of the Litter is being shown on Sunday, May 12, at The Duke of York Picturehouse, in Preston Road.

It follows the dogs’ journeys from puppies to adulthood and their training to become guide dogs.

The film is dog and family-friendly.

General manager Alex Evans said: “People would be barking mad to miss it.”

All humans can buy a ticket, it is one dog per adult and non-dog owners can attend too.

Regular pricing applies to the event.

Furry friends on the day will be accommodated with biscuits, bowls of waters and blankets for chairs or the floor.

Lighting and volume levels will be adjusted accordingly.

There will also be a policy in place for dog attendees who may become unsociable.

Mr Evans said the cinema is cleaned thoroughly before the next screening.

The Duke of York Picturehouse has already hosted a canine screening last March, showing Isle of Dogs.

Supervisor Ellis Shergold said the day could ‘snowball into something’.
